My Weekend

Friday night Adam took me to dinner and a movie. The plan was to see Going the Distance(the movie about a long distance relationship) but it wasn't playing anymore so instead we went to see this.

I had seen so many commercials for it and thought it looked pretty funny and it was pretty hilarious. I definitely will own this when it comes out on DVD.

Saturday we went up to beautiful Estes Park. Not just us, but about half the state of Colorado joined us. I've never seen it so crowded. Traffic was crazy and once in the park there were people parked everywhere. Parking lots were full and so were the sides of the streets. It was crazy. The guy at the gate told us it was free day...when normally its $20 a day(We have an annual pass though) We didn't know if he was just saying it was free day but quickly realized he wasn't kidding after we got in the park. We ate our subs from Jersey Mike's aka best sub place everrr and then attempted to hike. The altitude literally killed me and I was so out of breath and I was walking sooo slow. So we found some nice rocks to lay on and enjoy the perfect weather.

Doesn't it look so fall-ish?

yes, we're cute ;)

So we were heading home and I was dying to know about the Bama game...and was so proud of myself for not checking my phone and finding out who won. I had it recorded so when we got back to my place we began watching it. Well, I finished that game in under an hour because I was fast forwarding through all the crappy parts. Which you know if you watched it that Bama was sucking for a lot of that game. Adam finally got to see how serious I was about my team and I scared him with how intense I was with yelling at the TV and covering my eyes with a pillow when I couldn't stand to watch our 3rd downs. But WE WON so I was happy! Roll Tide!

Sunday we were SUPPOSED to go to church but Adam's lazy butt wanted to sleep instead. Then we went to get some yummy lunch at
YUM!

After lunch we went to the mall and Adam bought some new clothes and then I got a Wetzel Pretzel
Ahh-mazing

Then we went back to his place and watched football and then made dinner. It was a pretty great weekend :)

AND this weekend is going to be even better because I discovered bamadenver.com! Which basically is for Alabama fans who live in Denver. They meet at this bar on Saturdays and watch the Alabama games! YAY! We are going this weekend! Hopefully Adam will see that I'm not as crazy as some Bama fans out there :)

Random update

At least 3 times I've been offered a drink and people say this "We have iced tea...It's not sweet though!" umm no thanks and I'm not obsessed with sweet tea just because I'm from the south. Iced tea is gross though. But, I sure do miss Milo's chicken fingers and fries and honey mustard. Someone go eat some for me :)

And if I want good sweet tea I'll just go to McDonald's thank you.

Anyways...

I can't believe my 2nd week is already over. This weekend is gonna be funnnn. Date tonight and Estes Park tomorrow :) Also, my birthday is in 2 weeks. I'm gonna be pretty sad to spend it away from all my family and friends so everyone should send me presents :)
My address is...
   5121 Minnow Lane
        Broomfield, CO 80023

Ok, so you don't really have to send me presents but a card would be nice :) cuz I miss yall...

Have a great weekend and ROLL TIDE!!!!

Slow days...

Ya know those days where its exactly like every other day...except it goes by much, much slower for no apparent reason? Yea?? Well today was one of those days for me. But now that I'm off work it will inevitably go by much faster. Especially since now I live in Colorado and 5 minutes from my boyfriend :) :) :) I used to get off work, drive home, and be too exhausted to do anything. Not to mention I lived pretty far from most of my friends who'd even be available to hang out and a thousand plus miles from my boyfriend... Thank God those days are over :)

Anyways, Colorado is wonderful so far and every day I see those mountains I still can't believe I live here now. I'm SO lucky to have found another wonderful family to work for with awesome kids. BUT I sure do miss my Birmingham babies...

Sweet Sara Lane

smiley Nick

I skyped with them last week and it almost made me cry when I would say to Sara Lane "I miss you" and she would reply "Miss you Kissa" oh how I miss hearing her call me Kissa every day.

look at that face! I just wanna squeeze it :)

And then there's big brother Hoke. By far the funniest 6 year old I've ever met. He always cracked me up with his one of a kind dance moves and his beat boxing.

being bad and playing with our food :)

on my last day :(

before I drove home for the last time and cried the whole way...

All good things come to an end I guess. I can't wait to see them again, but I know I'll be sad when I see how much they've grown. But I am so happy to finally be where I've wanted to be for so long :)

Morning Walks

So every morning we take a walk. The weather is always so nice. Clear blue skies, around 70 degrees, and a nice breeze...and the scenery isn't too bad either.

There are lakes...

And sidewalks, or as they call them here "trails" everywhere.

And every morning we walk to this same spot with this amazing view

This is Kash. He's adorable....obviously.

This is my walking buddy Snoop.

Then we pass a couple of horses on the way back home

I'm actually surprised I don't have any pictures of bunnies. Because since I've been here I've seen more than I've seen in my entire life...seriously.

Well it's time to get ready to go to music class with Kash. He loves it! Happy Monday everyone!

Road Trip

1 car. 2 days. 7 states.

Approximately 6:45 AM Sunday September 5th Adam and myself left for a 2 day road trip that would end in a beautiful suburb of Denver called Broomfield, Colorado. (Which by the way is number 19 on the Best Places to live in America according to Money Magazine)

We decided to drive through St. Louis, Missouri to visit the Gateway Arch. We didn't anticipate the 3 and a half hour wait it would take for us to make it to the top. Apparently Labor Day weekend is one of their busiest weekends of the year. Lucky us. Nonetheless, I'm glad we went.

We drove 2 more hours then stopped and stayed in a hotel in Columbia, Missouri. The next morning Adam made me a waffle in the waffle maker and it was the best damn waffle I've ever had. We then continued to drive on by far the most boring interstate in the U.S. I-70 West....through Kansas....

 flat, flat, flat, WINDY, Kansas

Next stop Salina, Kansas. Where we ate at this cute little place I saw on the Travel Channel's Chowdown Countdown.

We finally made it close enough to see the Rocky Mountains. Too bad they were so hard to see because there was a forest fire....LAME.

New life. New state. Ahhh Sweet Home Colorado :)
